Thefts from Cley beach and Morston Quay

There have been some thefts from Cley-Next-The-Sea beach and Morston Quay overnight – some batteries, a control box and GPS equipment have been stolen from the beach and Morston Quay. We haven’t heard any reports so far from Blakeney Quay. We would urge all members to be vigilant, ensure that their own boats/engines/equipment and possessions are as secure as possible or preferably removed.

Be extra vigilant

We’ve been told by our very helpful local police that there have been a number of suspicious Transit vans visiting the area. They are interested both in boats, including those in boatyards, and engines of course.

There a number of outboards still on vessels. The police strongly advise owners take these engines home as they are too tempting to the would-be thief!

Please be vigilant. If you spot anything suspicious let us know and we’ll get the info out to members urgently. We’ll alert the police too. If you spot a theft in progress call 999. Virtual boat watch!! Don’t make it easy for them!
