On 23rd December 2016 at 0330hrs a Chrysler Voyager W665GBT was stopped near to Thursford by Police. This vehicle contained three Eastern European males and in the boot of the vehicle was a 40hp Honda outboard and a 60hp Mariner Outboard engine. There was also tools and cutting equipment. These males had cut the engines from two fishing boats located at Overstrand cliff top.
All were subsequently arrested and have been charged with theft and remanded into Police custody pending a court case. Addresses and lock ups were searched by Police in the Peterborough area but no further Marine equipment was found.
Enquiries are still ongoing into recent thefts of Marine equipment along our coast. If anyone has seen this vehicle then please could they email Jason Pegden at email@example.com or call 101 and report it.
All marine equipment has been returned to their owners.
