Fancy buying a boat for a pound?

Pound_coin_front

Blakeney Harbour Association is offering for the princely sum of £1 each, abandoned boats which need some (well, a lot)  of tender, loving care to restore them to their former glory.

A project for someone with the knowledge, patience and skills, the joy of restoring an old boat to its former glory is as rewarding as it is challenging, and a huge benefit to the environment by prolonging the life of the boat and saving resources.

BHA is successfully salvaging abandoned and wrecked boats that are likely to be a navigable hazard or a risk to the environment. Reselling the abandoned boats to be refurbished is another benefit to the environment and it would be wonderful to see these craft sailing once more.

IMPORTANT:

1. Please note that the boats are sold as seen and a condition of sale is that each must be taken away in its entirety from Morston Quay within fourteen days of sale.

2. You will be responsible for mooring fees and the disposal of the boat if you fail to collect within fourteen days of sale.

3. The boats are currently owned by the National Trust and title will be transferred to you as the owner in due course.

4. The boats are being sold on behalf of Blakeney Harbour Association, a registered charity which helps to dispose of boats and free up moorings for its members and the local community for a safer harbour.

5. Lifting can be arranged free of charge. Any donations to Blakeney Harbour Association for lifting assistance are optional and would be most gratefully received.

Find out more about each one of the boats by clicking the button, calling 07825 924389 or send an email to us here and we'll give you everything you need to know. For anyone buying outside of Norfolk and needs delivery, we recommend Shiply where you can post a collection and delivery for couriers to quote for.

Please spread the word to anyone you might know who fancies what could be a real bargain!
